Chorus is offered to any students registered in EDEP in grades 3rd-5th.  We participate in community service projects such as the Deland Christmas Parade as well as caroling at the Ridgecrest Manor nursing home for senior citizens. We also take field trips to the Peabody Auditorium for the Y.E.S. Concerts. (Youth Experiencing Symphony).

    Sewing Club

Students must be in the after school program.  Students will learn basic hand and machine sewing.  In October they will be working on a craft to bring to the nursing home at Christmas.

    Superstar News Network

The News Crew put on the morning announcements everyday.  These kids are made up of 5th graders who are full of personality, outgoing and creative.  They must maintain a B average or better and have zero referrals.  At the end of their 4th grade year they can apply to be apart of the Superstar News Network.

    Safety Patrols

At the beginning of the year patrols must be in the 5th grade. They need to be recommended by their previous teacher for the start of the year. They are recommended based on good behavior, grades and being a leader in the class. They have morning and afternoon duties around the campus. Morning duty is from 7:30-7:55 and afternoon duty is from 2:00-2:20. Patrols also sell ice pops on Monday, Thursday, Friday to raise money for their end of the year trip. In January, I pick fourth graders to join the patrols through the same criteria. They are trained for the following year. I don’t have a picture?
