    Title I Parent Information and Legal Rights

    Federal law requires that the local education agency (Volusia County Schools) notify parents of all children in Title I schools that they have the right to request and receive timely information on the professional qualifications of their children's classroom teacher.
    Title I schools shall "provide parents of participating children (A) timely information about programs under this part; and (B) a description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet; and (C) if requested by parents, opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of their children, and respond to any such suggestions as practicably possible." [No child Left Behind Act of 2001, Section 1118(c)(4)]

    We are pleased to announce the new Volusia Instructional Management System (VIMS.) Our new system (which includes the former Pinnacle Internet Viewer - PIV) will transform the teaching, learning and communication experiences for Volusia teachers, families and students. VIMS provides you access to view a students  attendance, grades and assignments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from any computer with an Internet connection. This access requires a confidential username and password. Please go to the "Student" and/or "Parent" Tab for PIV Instructions.

    Volunteers (including field trip chaperones) must complete the volunteer application process and be cleared through Professional Standards prior to volunteering. This process is renewed every five years, although mentors are required to complete an application annually. If you are a new applicant or applying to a new school, contact the school for an application or download the form and instructions here.

    The school’s volunteer coordinator will contact you if your volunteer clearance requires a five year renewal. Please allow three weeks to process your volunteer application. Our school's volunteer coordinator can be reached at
