Florida KidCare is our state's free or low cost health insurance program that provides comprehensive health coverage for children under 19 years old. Getting health coverage for your children before they become sick is very important. Children need regular check-ups so they can grow strong and healthy. Healthy children do their best at school and play.
Our school needs support from parent volunteers to assist in day-to-day operations, as well as scheduled events. Most volunteering opportunities are during the day, although some are after school hours (events) and some can be done from your home. If you can help out occasionally or regularly, it helps in the overall education of our children. Please fill out a Volunteer Questionnaire in the front office so that we know which volunteer opportunities would be of interest to you! After receiving your form, someone from the front office, will be contacting you to arrange volunteer opportunities.
Anyone interested in volunteering at Sunrise Elementary must be a cleared volunteer through Volusia County Schools. Just stop by the front office and apply at our volunteer kiosk computer. It takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks to be a cleared volunteer. You must select each school where you would like to volunteer, as you are cleared by location. We ask that all volunteers come to the front office to sign in and meet with Mrs. Bower prior to volunteering for that day. This is necessary so that we can keep an accurate record of our many volunteer hours that enable us to receive our Golden School Award each year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the front office, at Sunrise (386) 575-4103.
