    We take every precaution here at Sugar Mill Elementary to ensure the safety of our students and our staff. In the unlikely event that we ever have to evacuate campus, our primary evacuation site will be Silver Sands Middle S​chool and our alternate site will be The First United Methodist Church in Port Orange. Our Media/parent staging area will be the parking lot located near the Hardees Restaurant at 4096 S. Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange (which is on the corner of Ridgewood and Dunlawton )

    Extended Day Enrichment Program - EDEP

    The EDEP offers fee-based after school programs. It begins immediately after school ends, and is available until 5:45 PM. The EDEP ​provides a safe environment for elementary school students to develop friendships and explore new hobbies and interests. More than 3,500 VCS students participate in offerings such as homework m​onitoring, music, arts & crafts, computer skills, recreational activities, and field trips. Registration is $25, and Tuition is $45 per week. There are reduced rates for those who qualify for free/reduced lunch . For more information contact Trina Krudo, EDEP Facilitator.

    Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)

    Sugar Mill is a Golden School Award Winner!​​

    If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you must complete a Volusia County Volunteer Form. This also applies to chaperoning a field trip. Allow two weeks for the clearance process. The volunteer forms can be found in the main office.

    Once your application has been approved you must sign in and out in the main office each time you visit Sugar Mill. A name badge is required for all visitors and volunteers.
