Important Security Information
Only parents/guardians can direct the supervision of their child. Emergency contacts are just that. They are to be contacted when an emergency arises and all attempts to contact the legal guardian(s) have been exhausted and have failed. Emergency contacts can also be utilized upon the written notification or direction from the legal guardian. Minors (under 18) may not act as emergency contacts.
No one other than the legal guardian may remove a student from school without written permission from the legal guardian. This person must be 18 years of age or more, must have identification, and must be on the emergency card.
Phone requests from legal guardians cannot be honored as it raises concern of the legitimacy of the call and/or caller. The written notification regarding any changes for pick up should be delivered to the office or teacher only by the guardian or student.
The emergency card can be updated whenever a legal guardian deems it necessary. However, this must be done by the legal guardian in writing.
Students will not be called out of class for an early dismissal until the parent/guardian has arrived on campus. It may take up to 30 minutes to process a checkout, so please plan accordingly.
Parents and Guardians: In case of an early release/evacuation we have two sites designated to allow Spruce Creek Elementary students to be picked up. Our primary location is Spruce Creek High School located at 801 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL 32127. The secondary location is Sweetwater Elementary School located at 5800 Victoria Gardens Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32127.
