    SAC Parent Elections

Southwestern Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO)

    Membership Application

Annual dues are $5. Please complete the application and return it to your child’s first period teacher.

Meetings take place immediately following SAC Meetings (dates listed above) from approximately 5:15-5:45pm in the Southwestern Middle School Media Center.

There are so many reasons to become involved with your school's PTSO that we can't list them all, but here are a few that we think are pretty convincing!

GET CONNECTED. There is no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

TAP INTO A NETWORK. Parenting is not easy- it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTSO functions allow opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

WATCH YOURSELF GROW. By volunteering with your PTSO you gain valuable experiences. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause– your child and all children in the community.

SPEAK UP. Because the PTSO is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTSO can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

WITNESS IMPROVEMENT. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be a part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTSOs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events- all vital to the school’s success.

BE A ROLE MODEL. By becoming a PTSO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education. You also show your child the importance of volunteering your time to causes you care about.
