    Principal's Message
    Dear Students and Parents,

It is my distinct honor to be serving as your Middle School Principal.  I hope everyone enjoyed their summer vacation.  As we begin the 2016-2017 school year, I wanted to take a moment and share with you some of our focuses this year.

This district's theme this year is:
"Igniting dreams: Where Students Reach Their Highest Potential " and we can't think of a better theme for our Gators.  We believe..."Every Gator will move forward: Career and College Ready!  We take our position as educators very seriously and we hope to prepare your children for their bright futures.
This year, our major school wide focuses will be:
Teaching to the rigor of the Florida Standards and the SHIFTS.  In addition, we will continue to work on organization through the use of binders for all students.
We will continue to use Wednesdays for SWAMP time.  This time will be dedicated to remediation, retesting and enrichment.  Swamp Time will continue to allow us time to meet the revised grading guidelines.  Students will have opportunities for remediation, reassessment, and enrichment at least two Wednesdays a month.  We encourage you to check your child's progress weekly via the on line Gradebook.
In order to fulfill our commitment to student achievement, we will be spending two full days every week in classrooms to help improve the teaching and learning that happens on a daily basis.  Therefore, we may not always be available to speak with you when you drop in or telephone us. However, we really do value communicating with you.  So, when you would like to speak with a member of the administrative team, please contact our secretaries who will schedule a time for us to talk.

Please make sure you are familiar with the new district wide uniform policy at:
Our school’s two additional shirt colors are Forest Green and black.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and your patience and understanding as we implement these practices.
    Go Gators!
