Bullying as Defined by Volusia County Schools

Aggressive behavior that is repeated, that is intentionally harmful and occurs with no provocation. This includes teasing, calling names, hitting, kicking, stealing, threatening as well as spreading rumors and influencing others to do these things. This includes cyber-bullying where technology and cyberspace are used for any of the above behaviors and acts (during school hours).

    Cell Phone Information

Cell phones must not be visible, turned on or used during school hours, unless under the direct supervision of a teacher for a lesson: 9:25 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. - bell to bell.

Cell phones that ring, vibrate or are visible during school hours will be confiscated. Cell phones may be retrieved in the grade house administrative office at the end of the school day.

Text messaging is not allowed during school hours.

Cell phones and other electronic devices are the responsibility of the student. Electronic devices lost, stolen or damaged are not the responsibility of the school. Students should place "turned off" phones and other electronics inside of their backpacks or out of site for safe keeping.
