Dear OBE Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of Ormond Beach Elementary School. As a graduate of Seabreeze High School, it is an honor to be a part of a school community that is committed to the students and families well-being it so proudly serves.
Working fifteen years for Volusia County Schools, I have held a variety of job roles. I began as an exceptional student education teacher at the elementary level then transitioned to Ormond Beach Middle School teaching science, social studies, and reading. My tenure at OBMS ended after four years when appointed to Westside Elementary as a teacher on assignment, then assistant principal. After two years at Westside Elementary, I was transferred to Pine Trail Elementary for three years until being appointed principal of Ormond Beach Elementary.
Over the past couple of weeks, I have met with numerous teachers, parents, and stakeholders of OBE. The conversations had were filled with a variety of topics, all of which highlighted the strong sense of family and the pride each has for this school at some point during our discussions. The genuine warmth I feel when walking onto the campus is very special and is directly correlated to the hearts of those so deeply imbedded, both past and present. In addition, the physical history of this building is worthy of recognition and I look forward to celebrating 100 years of excellence in 2017.
Ormond Beach Elementary is the place to be and I will give my all each and every day to ensure that reputation is upheld and the children get the very best education each deserves.
