Florida KidCare
Children with health insurance miss fewer days of school, and applying for Florida KidCare is easy. Any family can apply, and many pay $20 or less per month to insure their children. Most pay nothing at all. Click here for additional information.
Extended Day After School Program
Orange City Elementary provides a quality before/after school day care program. This enrichment program is available five days a week through the Volusia County Schools Extended Day program. The hours are: 6:30 am-7:30 am and 2:30 pm-5:45 pm On early release Wednesdays, the afternoon hours are 1:30 pm-5:45 pm. We provide a most exciting after-school program that engages students in a variety of supervised activities such as homework time, arts and crafts, games and recess.
A supper is served each day at 3:15pm.
There is a required non-refundable registration fee which covers insurance. The program is only open school days. The program is closed for school holidays.
Our program supervisor, Ms. Janice Wininger, is available at 386-575-4215 ext. 41047 after 10 am Monday-Friday for further information regarding the Extended Day Program.
SAC
The School Advisory Council (SAC) meets each month with the Principal and SAC Chair. All parents and community members are invited to attend our meetings at 6:00pm in the media center on the dates listed below. If you are interested in becoming a member of our SAC this school year, please contact Theresa Morrison at (386) 575 4215 ext. 41060 or tjmorri1@volusia.k12.fl.us.

Attendance at SAC meetings is extremely important.
SAC members are responsible for:
- Examining all aspects of the School Improvement Plan
- Prioritizing the needs of the school
- Assisting in the preparation and evaluation of the school budget
- Deciding how to spend SAC funds to meet the school improvement goals
- Deciding with school staff how to spend Florida Recognition Funds, if awards by the state
- Input on the School Improvement Pland & the Parent & Family Engagement Plan
