    Art Club

    Sponsor: Ms. Tatum

    Meeting Time & Place: Art room every Wednesday from 1:15-3:00

    Art club consists of 34 5th grade students who meet every Wednesday and focus on exploring their own visions in Art as they experiment with different art mediums. In art club you have the opportunity to experiment with oil pastels, tempera paint, watercolors, pen and ink, pencils, and clay. Ms. Tatum will be offering Art club to 4th graders in the Spring!

    Meeting Time & Place: Mrs. Hinckley's Room 7:25 AM  (4th Grade Tuesday, 5th Grade Wednesday)

    Chorus is a combined effort of 4th and 5th graders who provide support and entertainment for our school and the community. They have visited and performed at many locations around the community including John Knox Village, The Cloisters, Woodland Terrace, Debary Manor, and the Volusia Mall. 

    Girls on the Run

    Sponsors: Mrs. Hancock and Ms. Mulligan

    Meeting Time & Place: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:05-3:30

    Girls on the Run is offered to 3rd-5th grade girls. It encourages them to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. Through the club they also get the opportunity to prepare for a celebratory 5k race.

    News Crew

    Sponsor:Mr. Sanders

    Meeting Time & Place: Media Center every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:45-8:05

    News Crew gives 5th grade students an opportunity to collaborate with their peers to create and broadcast the Roadrunner News announcements every morning to the entire school. Each student learns the many jobs it takes to create a live news broadcast, including: news anchor, script editor, audio​ mixer, video mixer, camera operator, video editor,  and critic.

    Safety Patrols

    Sponsor: Ms. Tatum

    Meeting Time & Place: Ms. Tatum's room on the last Friday of every month from 2:15-3:00

    The purpose of safety patrols is to provide support towards student safety on campus. The safety patrols are made up of 18 5th grade students who must obtain high academic achievement. During their time as patrols the students will collectively provide an average of 360 volunteer hours a month. They are required to patrol 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. They will also meet once a month to discuss patrol business.

    Meeting Time & Place: Tuesdays from 2:05 – 2:45 on the basketball court

    Roadrunners is a fitness club where students are encouraged to run or walk 3 laps or more around the field every Tuesday. 

    Student Government Association (S.G.A)

    Sponsors: Mrs. Larsh & Mrs. Kennedy

    Meeting Time & Place: Twice a month on Thursday from 2:05-3:00 in Mrs. Larsh's classroom

    SGA gives fourth and fifth grade students the opportunity to learn the basics about our local government. Students are given the chance to elect officers (President, Vice President, and Secretary) within the club to establish their own government. SGA participates in numerous activities around school including helping to box items collected for our needy families during our holiday walk and collecting pop tabs to help support families in need.

    Students Working to Advance with Technology (S.W.A.T) 

    Sponsors: Mrs. Avram & Mrs. Goble

    Meeting Time & Place: Mrs. Avram's room every Friday from 2:15-3:15

    SWAT allows the students to advance their skills in typing while trying to increase their words per minute each week. They use a website called in which the students work on different levels where they practice on different rows of the keyboard to earn trophies.

    Meeting Time & Place: Ms. Potter's room once a week on Tuesday or Thursday morning at 7:20

    Yearbook is a club offered to 5th grade students. During the time in yearbook students will take pictures during special events, field trips, and school activities. Students will work together to develop yearbook pages using the pictures taken.
