    Lifetouch Picture Dates and Info

    Here are the dates for Lifetouch pictures in March:
    *Friday, March 6th: Spring Picture Day. Only students purchasing pictures may wear an outfit of their choice (school appropriate) and have spring pictures taken. This is not a yearbook photo.
    *Tuesday, March 10th: Class picture day
    *Tuesday, March 24th: Yearbook club pictures

    Yearbook order forms will be coming home this week! Please return them to your student's teacher with payment. Yearbooks arrive closer to the end of the school year.​

    Does your student ride the bus? Volusia County Schools purchased an app called Where's The Bus to help parents know precisely where the bus is! Download the app to link your student and start tracking your bus today!

    ​AdventHealth eCare is now available in your student's school. AdventHealth eCare provides virtual access to doctors and nurse practioners for minor ailments. You see the doctor on your time - when and where it's convenient for you. As part of the Volusia County Schools Healthy Futures Program, AdventHealth will provide a one-time use voucher to cover the cost of the visit for qualified students. Follow up with your school nurse for more details.

    ​​Field Trip and Volunteer Information

    ​​​F​​​​ield trip season is upon us! As field trip and volunteer opportunities are becoming availalbe, please make sure that you are an approved volunteer BEFORE the event! Follow these instructions to complete the application to volunteer: 

    ​​Volunteer Applications are available online. Please go to https://www.vcsedu.org/volunteer-partnership/volunteers-vips. On the lefthand side of the webpage scroll down to "Related Links" and select " Application to Volunteer".

    ​EVERYONE will need to have thier ID re-scanned for the 2019-2020 school year as there was a system upgrade over the summer. Even if you were in our system from previous school years, we need to scan your ID. If we have scanned your ID since August 2019, we do not need to scan it again this year. And as always, please make sure that you have your photo ID with you whenever you are on campus!​

    Free and Reduced Meal Applications

    Did you know that Manatee Cove Elementary is a Title I school? Schools become eligible for Title I funds based on teh number of students that qualify for the Free and Reduced Meal Program. Schools with a poverty rate of 75% of higher automatically receive funds, and those with lower rates may receive funds if they are available. Title I is a federal aid program that provides funds to help students succeed academically. These funds are used to help students meet the state's high standards, particularly in the areas of reading, mathematics, science, and writing. Your registration helps the school receive funding and your information is kept private.

    New School Start Times for 2019-2020 School Year​​

    The Volusia County School board voted to change school start times for next year.
    • Elementary will be 7:50 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.,
    • Middle will be 9:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.,
    • High School will be 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
       

    These times will be effective in August 2019, for the start of the ​2019-20 school year. The School Board developed this schedule by modifying the start time committee's option #1 after reviewing the results of the survey. Some options being considered are morning tutoring and offering more clubs for middle schools to help families transition to the later start time.

    School Uniforms

    Manatee Cove's approved collared polo shirt colors are blue, green, white, gray, black. School spirit shirts can be worn on Fridays. Bottoms must be solid gray, navy, blue, black, or khaki. Closed toe shoes are required and hair must be its natural color.
