Your child will be coming to the library media center every week with his/her class as a part of special area. Depending on each grade level, we will enjoy a story, learn about how the media center works and how to use reference sources, as well as check out library books. Kindergarten and First grade students may check out one book at a time and students in Second through Fifth grades may check out two books at a time. All books are due two weeks from check-out date.

 

During our Orientation class, we will review how to care for books, the importance of returning books on time and in the same condition as they were checked out, as well as many other procedures used in the media center to help students make the most of their media experience.

 

Students returning books in damaged condition will receive a letter from the school requesting a replacement cost for the damaged book(s). Students who have not returned books one week after the due date of their book(s) will receive a letter from the school requesting the book(s) be returned or replacement cost for the lost book(s).

 

Our media center will be having two book fairs during the school year (Fall and Spring). We will be sending home letters for interested volunteers.
