    2017-2018 School Club Policies & Responsibilities

     Student Responsibilities

    • Demonstrates Eagle Expectations at all times
    • Attend all club meetings.
    • Contribute positively to the club.
    • Remind family about club meetings.
    • Do your best and nothing less.

    Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

    • Review club calendar with your student.
    • Support your student in their club activities.
    • Pick-up student promptly after club meetings or arrange for student to attend Extended Day Enrichment Program (EDEP).

    Our School Policies

    • Clubs are organized into Fall and Spring sections. Students may participate in a club during Fall only, spring only, or both.  This varies by club.
    • Younger brothers/sisters of club members may not wait unsupervised on campus.
    • We value the time of our club sponsors. Please observe the pick-up time for your students club.  Two late pick-ups may result in student's removal from club.

     


    Drama Club

    1st Semester Drama Club (Sept.28-Dec.14)

    Students in grades 3-5 participate in activities based around theater/drama; variety of games and lessons for building performance skills; each club member will participate in a play to be performed to an audience on November 16th.  This club is sponsored by Mrs. Bond and there is no fees or auditions.

    Meeting date & time: Thursday from 2:10-3:30 p.m.

    2nd Semester Musical Theatre (Jan. 11- May 17)

    Sponsored by Mrs. Bond and Miss Hood, students must audition to be in this group.  Auditions will be the second week of December.  The purpose of this club is to rehearse the school musical... learning choreography, songs and acting lines.  All students attending Musical Theatre Club will be in the show and faithful attendance is required.  Costumes are provided.  Performances are May 16-18, 2018.  There is a $20 fee for the club which includes cast t-shirts.  Rehearsal schedule will be given at the first meeting in January.

    Meeting date & time: Thursday form 2;10-3:30 pm and most Fridays after Spring Break will be scheduled.


    Chorus

    (Begins September 20th)

    The Chorus program, sponsored by Ms. Hood, is for 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students.  Students in Chorus learn to sing, move, play percussion instruments and have fun while making beautiful music.  The Chorus presents at various performances throughout the year, during school and at after-school performances.  There will be fall and spring sessions.  There is a $15 club fee for t-shirts and music supplies.

    Meeting date & time: Wednesdays 1:15-2:30 pm


    Art Club

    The Art Club is sponsored by Mr. Garaitonandia (Mr. G). Art Club focuses on the exploration of advanced art materials and visual arts techniques.  Projects usually involve materials not feasible to use during normal class time such as acrylic painting on canvas, advanced drawing skills, graphic design, mural painting, advanced print making techniques and large sculpture.  The club has a limited number of members due to material consumption and space so an application to join is required.   Membership is free.  Upon completion of the Art Club, students will have created an artistic portfolio of work and a legacy project.

    2nd & 3rd grade meeting date & time: Thursday from 2:00-3:00 pm

    4th & 5th grate meeting date & time: Mondays from 2:00-3:00 pm                


    Morning MIle Run Club

    The "Morning Mile" Run Club is sponsored by Florida Hospital and the American Diabetes Association and will be led by Ms. Block-Kelly and Mr. Martin.  The club is for 2nd through 5th grade students.  This year run club will be a little different because it is offered Tuesday and Thursday MORNINGS from 6:55-7:25 am.  Students will have fun exercising and energizing their bodies by running anywhere from .25- 1 mile on run club mornings.  We will focus on goal setting and run various community races together.

    Girls on the Run Club

    Girls on the Run is a structured running program for girls in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and sponsored by Ms. Hulsman and Ms. Fontanez.   The Girls on the Run lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.  Physical activity is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health.  At the end of each three month session, the girls participate in a Girls on the Run 5K event.  There is a $100 registration fee.  Scholarships are available.  Girls on the Run begins in January.

    Meeting date & time: Mondays & Thursdays from 2:30-3:15 pm


    K-KIDS/ S.L.E.W.

    K-Kids Flyer

    K-Kids/S.L.E.W. (Service, Leadership, Environment, WOW) is a club for students to learn leadership through service.  Students in grades 4 and 5 take on the responsibility of running the club as they plan and participate in community service projects. In big and small ways, they are changing the world around them.  The club sponsors are Mrs. Grebosz, Ms. Lalashuis, Ms. Bloemker and Ms. Schicker.  There is a $10 club fee for t-shirts and supplies.

    Meeting date & time: Every other Thursday 2:15-3:30 pm


    DaVinci Club

    The purpose of the DaVinci Club is to promote a love for reading and expression of literature.  Students will spend the first part of the club in small groups discussing the book that they are currently reading.  The remainder of the club will be dedicated to expressing their literature selection through an array of self-selected project choices such as writing, drama, music, the visual arts (painting, drawing, collage, sculpture) and STEM (science, technology engineering and mathematics).  DaVinci Club is available for 4th and 5th grade students.  There is an addtional form and a $5 registration fee.
