The Chisholm Stakeholder Group of teachers and staff met with district staff and our architect on March 22 to review draft concept plans and provide input. On March 30th during Chisholm’s Academic Night parents will get a chance to see the concept plans and do a straw ballot. The second Community Information Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30PM till 7:30PM in the Chisholm cafeteria. Community members, parents and staff are invited to see plans and provide input that evening.
Welcome to the Chisholm Rebuild Site!
This site will provide updates to the public on the process of rebuilding Chisholm Elementary School. As a result of the successful passing of the half-cent sales tax extension, Chisholm will be entirely rebuilt except for the newest structure on campus, classroom building 16. It is a nine-classroom building housing our fourth and fifth grade classrooms, plus a computer lab.
On January 19th, the first of three Community Information Meetings was held in the Chisholm cafeteria. Over 100 interested members attended including parents, staff and community members. The firm of Rhodes and Brito Architects of Orlando have been School Board approved to be the architects for the project. At the meeting they were introduced, gathered input from the attendees and shared information about the design and planning process. I will be meeting with the architect Byron Lastrapes of the firm along with district staff every other week as part of the process.
A stakeholder committee representative of school teachers and staff has been formed to participate in the planning process. More information on the specific date and time will be forthcoming. Meanwhile any inquiries regarding the design and planning process may be directed to me.
