    Reminders/ Notes:

Please have your child read at least 15 minutes nightly. Try to reading books that can count toward Reading Counts points and that are appropriate to their level.  Please ask your students questions after they read to check comprehension.

Parents need to sign reading logs daily.  Review vocabulary words and definitions nightly as these are difficult for the students and they need extra help for their tests.

Thank you for sending in Box Tops.

    Communication:

We believe that communication is key to your student's success. If there is a question, comment, and/or concern please contact the teacher BEFORE going to administration. We like to have a chance to handle things in our classrooms. We will work to schedule a conference with each family early in the year. However, please inform us of any concern or request a conference at any time to review your child's progress. Your child’s folder is the best way to communicate with us. If you need to call please do so between 7:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.

    Homework:

Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. Please check your child's homework and sign daily. It is imperative that you go over your child’s work so you understand what is happening in the classroom.  Please have your child read for 15 minutes, review vocabulary words and definitions and practice spelling words nightly.

    Assessments:

Reading are given throughout the week. Other subject area tests will be announced in advance to allow students time to properly prepare.  Your child will be notified in class of the day we will have the assessment. We will be taking the OTIS Lennon assessment in the next few months. The date will be announced as soon as we are aware of it. We will also be giving the FAIR assessment three times this year.
