Bethune-Cookman University: The Master of Education in Exceptional Student Education Program is a 33 credit-hour, evidence-based online graduate program designed to prepare in-service teachers to serve students with disabilities in the Pre-K through 12 setting. The use of technology integration prepares graduates for a connected and global digital society. Graduate students will participate in a 2-year program during the fall, spring and summer semesters, selecting a specialization area of study in Pre-K Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) prior to admission to the program.

The specialization tracks in this program reflect the State of Florida's endorsement courses in Pre-K Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Daytona State College

Daytona State College offers a variety of programs for future and current educators inclu​ding the EPI program for Teacher Certification 

The Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) provides the necessary training for candidates already holding a four-year baccalaureate degree (other than education) who may be interested in becoming highly qualified teachers in Florida.

In addition to becoming prepared to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE), candidates who successfully complete the EPI program will be eligible to receive their five-year Florida Professional Educator's Certificate. 

DSC now offers all 5 Competencies of Reading Endorsement in 3 online courses.

The Reading Endorsement will allow Florida educators to meet the need for highly-qualified teachers in reading, per the Florida Department of Education requirements under the Just Read, Florida! initiative. ​

Daytona State College offers a course that fulfils the ESE/SWD requirement:

Students with Disability Renewal Requirement

  • EEX4034 Introduction of ESE to Inclusion Teachers (1 credit course for Renewal Requirement)
  • This course is provided fully online and can be completed in 7 to 8 weeks. This course uses modules so that students can proceed at their own pace.

​The Florida Atlantic University Departments of Educational Leadership & Research Methodology and Curriculum, Culture, & Educational Inquiry are pleased to launch their joint Teacher Leadership Certificate (TLC). The fully online, non-degree seeking program has been aligned with the Teacher Leader Model Standards and is delivered through five courses that bring together the most current theory and practice in curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and instructional supervision.

The fully revised and updated Clinical Education course, which can be taken on its own, applies evidence-based teacher evaluation models to prepare teachers to observe, coach, and mentor teachers and student interns.​​​

The TLC is designed for emerging teacher leaders – not aspiring principals - who are making a significant difference in the classroom, school and community, and who would benefit from developing expertise in a range of topics including curriculum development, data-informed decision making, leadership of professional learning communities, and clinical supervision. 

The IDEAL School Leaders Master's Degree Program Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton, Florida; A Synchronous Distributed eLearning Program:

This fully revised program has been designed to cater to the needs of aspiring educational leaders in public, charter, private, and international schools. Through IDEAL (for Inclusive Development of School Administrators and Leaders), outstanding teachers take a rigorous graduate-level program that enables them to become credentialed and qualified school-based administrators.

This degree will be offered as a synchronous distributed eLearning program, which will allow students either to attend classes in-person at the FAU Boca Raton campus, or join classes remotely using our video-conferencing platform. This means that students can apply to this high-quality program regardless of their location. It should be understood that this is a rigorous but adaptable program that will allow districts and schools ensure that students can tailor the coursework to the needs of their schools.

Doctoral Leadership Grant - Communication for Young Children to Enhance Learning (CYCEL)

FSU's College of Education now offers:

•             An online graduate certificate in ASD

•             An online master's in Curriculum & Instruction: ASD

•             A face-to-face master's in Curriculum & Instruction: Special Education (specialization in ASD)

As an added bonus, certified special education teachers in Florida can obtain the Autism endorsement on their teaching certificate upon completion of any of these programs.

The online graduate certificate program takes one year to complete and consists of six courses (16 credit hours), while the online master's in ASD will take two years to complete and includes 12 courses (34 credit hours). The on-campus master's consists of 11 courses (33 credit hours).
