    Reviewed App List (iOS)
    ​The iOS Reviewed Apps List is now accessible for VCS employees in the VPortal, under the Instructional Tools menu. VCS Employees may also use this link​. Each school has a designated Apple Program Facilitator (APF). Teachers should work with school-based APFs on the process for downloading iOS Apps on VCS iPads and iPod Touch devices.

    Approved Software (Computer Software)
    All software installed on VCS computers must follow the software acquisition and installation process. The process is required if the software is new, an upgraded version, or was installed on a VCS computer previously without approval. Version upgrades must be evaluated to determine if computers will meet requirements, such as RAM, to run the programs.
     
    Please check the link below for a list of software that has been approved. If the software you would like loaded on a VCS computer(s) is already approved and does not have specific licensing limitations, then you can proceed with submitting a Tech Services Ticket.  
     
    Approved Software
     
    Only approved software may be installed on district computers. Please see this list for currently approved software. This is an internal VCS site.
     
    Descriptions of Levels of Support: 
    • Gold - Approved District Strategic Software (Technology Services supports software); hardware may have VCS image and managed remotely through Technology Services.
    • Silver - Non-Strategic District Recommended Software (Technology Services supports hardware and compatibility of software); hardware may be connected to the network, but not managed remotely by Technology Services.
    • Bronze - Non-Strategic Software  (Technology Services has approved software to be run on current platforms only, but there is no support of software functionality or upgrade paths; hardware connectivity to network is not guaranteed.

    Overview of the Process:
     
    Step 1: If you have checked the list and the software is not listed, please complete the Software Acquisition form directly above and send to HelpDesk@volusia.k12.fl.us.
     
    Step 2: Once the form is received, Instructional Services and Technology Services will review the technical capability and the curriculum alignment of the software requested.
     
    Step 3: Technology Services will then check the software and determine if the computers are able to support the software. In addition, Technology Services will verify that the software does not conflict with any district software being used. The method of installation will also be addressed during this step.
     
    Step 4: You will receive an email with the outcome of this request. If approved you will need to Tech Services Ticket​ to have the software loaded.
