Disability History and Awareness
Each year, during the first two weeks of October, schools across Florida recognize Disability History and Awareness Weeks. This is a time to increase knowledge, understanding and awareness of individuals with disabilities as well as knowledge about the history of disability rights. A variety of resources are available through your FDLRS East Center to support activities in your schools. Click on the links below to view activities, videos, books, and websites.
Teachers in Volusia County may submit their school plan for these weeks and be entered into a drawing for a gift card from our local Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Click on the link below to enter the drawing.
