Volusia County Schools will graduate 4,274 students with approximately 38% graduating with honors (3.5 or higher); a 4% increase from last year. Collectively, the class of 2019 has secured over $34 million dollars in scholarships. 710 seniors will graduate with an Industry Certification with multiple students earning more than one industry certification. More than 100 of our seniors will have earned their Associates of Arts or Associates of Science degree (AA or AS) prior to walking across the stage to earn their high school diploma, thanks in part to the countless dual enrollment opportunities. In addition, several hundred of our seniors will begin college with multiple college credits already completed because of AP, IB, AICE and dual enrollment opportunities. Volusia County seniors are enlisted in every branch of the military, and 82% of the class of 2019 indicated that they will be continuing their education in a post-secondary or technical school at colleges and universities throughout the world. The class of 2019 includes National Merit Finalists, National Merit Commended Scholars and hundreds of Bright Future Scholarship recipients.
